WACA Events


At our Association, we believe there is no better way to meet potential customers and the members in our industry than through personal interaction.  To achieve this, we've set up a number of networking opportunities.  A list of events and approximate dates are listed below.  For a current list of actual meeting dates, times & topics, please visit the calendar listed on the Events page.


JANUARY / FEBRUARY

MSHA Part 46 Training

Held in Spokane & Mt. Vernon in January and again in Tacoma in February.   The MSHA Part 46 training requires 8 hours of Annual Refresher training for "Experienced and Newly Hired Miners," as per recent MSHA regulations.  For more information on this class visit the MSHA Part 46 Refresher page.

MSHA Spring Thaw
A collaborative event bringing together agency, industry, and safety resources to advance and promote good safety practices, reduce incidents, and provide compliance tools.  
 

APRIL / MAY

Awards for Excellence in Concrete Construction
The Washington Aggregates and Concrete Association is pleased to formally recognize your professional accomplishments in the outstanding use of Ready Mix Concrete throughout Washington State.  Entries for the awards are typically due at the end of March or beginning of April.  The actual award ceremony will be held at the end of April or beginning of May.

UNE / JULY

ACI Certifications Conclude
As of June 1st, ACI Certifications will conclude for the summer construction season.  Please check your expiration dates and plan accordingly.  Classes WILL NOT be held during the summer and will resume in the fall.

Annual Family Summer & Membership Meeting
This event has been held at Campbell's Resort for many years.  Activities include the kids kite-flying contest, the family putt-putt golf outing, a kids silent auction, and our President's Reception with both the live and dessert auctions.   Registration for this event will typically open around the beginning of May.

Annual Golf Tournament
Membership event held in conjunction with the Family Summer Meeting. Sponsorship opportunities are available!  Registration will go out with the Family Summer Meeting registration. 


AUGUST

No events planned in preparation for the new fiscal year.

Legislative Workshop
The Legislative Workshop is held in the Fall and provides members an opportunity to visit directly with state legislators and agencies in Olympia to discuss important state, local and industry issues impacting the aggregate, ready mix concrete, and general business / employer community. It also provides those that have never visited Olympia during a legislative session an opportunity to watch their state government at work and witness the legislative process.


NOVEMBER

Fall/Winter Workshop
Our technical event of the year supporting our Associate members that focuses on production, regulatory, promotional, and related topics.  Exhibit and booth opportunities are available for Associate members.
