The Washington Aggregates and Concrete Association (WACA) is currently seeking an Executive Director.

The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing and supporting all aspects of the organization’s operations and will serve as a passionate advocate for the industry in Washington’s legislature and communities. 

The ideal candidate for this important position will be a natural and confident leader and ambassador for the industry that exemplifies tact and diplomacy. They will possess strong written and verbal communication skills and situational awareness and will be able to think on their feet and think critically. 

WACA is a not-for-profit industry trade organization (501C-6) representing the business and regulatory interests of member companies. The Association members are producers of construction aggregates, ready mixed concrete, cement manufacturers, cement shippers, as well as associate members comprised of manufacturers and vendors for industry products and services. 

Salary and Benefits

The position is full-time, salaried (range $120K-175K/year DOE), and bonus eligible per board discretion. The position offers health insurance, Simple IRA retirement plan, and provides an auto allowance and vacation allowance per WACA Board-approved schedule. The Executive Director is an at-will employee who serves at the pleasure of the Officers and Board of Directors, and there is not a traditional probationary period for the position.  

Qualifications

Any combination of experience and education to meet the minimum qualifications is acceptable for consideration.

  • Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant Association industry nonprofit experience in a leadership position.

Preferred Qualifications: 10 years of relevant experience, CAE accreditation, MBA, National associations accreditation, other relevant accreditations, and direct industry experience.

Very nice single person office space(s) available in our Association offices located in Des Moines, WA at 22223 7th Ave South.  This residential setting near the Des Moines Marina features an upstairs office space perfect for one person use or 2 person team.  Preferred hours of operation between 7:00-6:00pm and low traffic businesses also preferred.  Please no therapy, counseling, or patient-based businesses. 

Large Office Space - Monthly rate negotiable   

Some furnishing may be available and space includes secured building, utilities, garbage and recycling, parking,  phone, data and wireless access throughout.  Full kitchen and amenities with separate meeting and reception area.  Use of large, well furnished 15 person conference space is also available.
