Meeting Topic: Concrete - Its Durability and Sustainability, Presented by Dave Flax, Manager Southwest Region, Euclid Chemical
Concrete is well-known for its durability as a building material, but many ways exist to enhance its sustainability. This meeting will explore various methods to make concrete even more environmentally friendly, including using admixtures, supplementary cementitious materials, and different types of concrete. We will also discuss light reflectivity and protection techniques. These strategies can extend the lifespan of concrete while reducing labor and energy costs (both initial and over the life cycle), minimizing stormwater runoff, mitigating heat island effects, and lowering carbon footprints. Understanding these options is essential as green and sustainable construction becomes increasingly important.

Our 18th Annual WA ACI Chapter Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025.
The Club at Snoqualmie Ridge offers a unique golfing experience and breathtaking views of the Cascades. It is the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Design Course in Washington.
This will be our third year at this beautiful course, and we expect 2025 to be the best yet! So mark your calendar and

Other WA ACI Chapter events include a joint meeting with the Structural Engineers Association of Washington (SEAW) in February, the annual Clay Shoot in May, and the annual ACI Washington Chapter Golf Tournament (typically held in September).
